What a fascinating concept. The quote from Eric Schmidt in the article says it best "The network is the computer.". We will have a future were a large majority of our lives will have a virtual component to them. Consider the value of all of our intangible assets that we will have, but never acctually posess.
Just like the early vision contained in Second Life, each member of this planet will have a digital persona. Obviously some more than others. Hmm interesting food for thought.
